BRAMPTON MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED IN SHELBURNE

Shortly before 11 am on Saturday February 3rd 2018, a Shelburne Police officer became concerned about the driving behavior of an SUV.

The officer stopped the vehicle and conducted a roadside investigation. As a result the male driver was returned to the Shelburne Police Station for breath tests which he failed.

The driver, 51 year old Gary Vernon of Brampton was charged with Impaired Operation, and Drive Motor Vehicle with more than 80mgs of alcohol; both under the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged under the Liquor Licence Act for having open alcohol readily available to him in the vehicle, as well as a document charge under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was released from the Police Station on a Promise to Appear with a first appearance court date later this month to answer to these allegations.
