Charges Laid When Man Makes Death Threats While Brandishing a Baseball Bat

On Thursday February 16th during the morning hours, Shelburne Police responded to a call for a male walking in Shelburne with a baseball in a rage, allegedly on his way to assault another male over an ongoing dispute.

The suspect was intercepted by police on his way to the victim’s residence.  The suspect was distraught and uttering threats towards the intended victim as Shelburne Police officers verbally engaged him in an attempt to calm him down and drop the baseball bat.  The suspect ended up dropping the baseball bat and complying with police.  This ordeal caught the attention of many citizens in the area.

The suspect was arrested and the baseball bat was seized.  As a result, the male was charged with Weapons Dangerous, Uttering Death Threats, and Cause Disturbance.

Thankfully there were no injuries as a result of this incident.

The name of the suspect is not being released due to the nature of some of the relationships connected to the dispute.
