Man From Georgia Charged with Over 80

During the afternoon on Thursday February 2nd a local citizen notified Shelburne Police of a possible impaired driver operating a vehicle in the Town of Shelburne.

An officer located the Nissan Murano in question driving on Main Street in Shelburne. The vehicle was stopped and a roadside breath test was administered which the driver failed.  The driver was arrested for Operation Over 80.

The driver was transported to the Shelburne Police station where further breath tests were conducted.  The results of the tests indicate that driver had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

As a result, 42 year old George Waters of Hartwell Georgia was charged with Operation Over 80.  The vehicle was impounded for 7 days and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
