Mulmur Man Charged With Over 80 And Impaired

During the early morning hours on Saturday January 14th Shelburne Police officers spoke with a male who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

A couple hours later the officers observed the same male operating a pick-up truck on a roadway in Shelburne.  The officers stopped the vehicle and demanded the driver provide a roadside breath test.  The driver failed this test, and therefore was arrested.  He was transported to the Shelburne Police station for further testing.

At the station the driver provided further breath samples which confirmed he had over the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

As a result, 54 year old Tyler Darbyson of Mulmur was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and operation over 80.  His vehicle was impounded for 7 days and his licence suspended for 90 days under the ADLS program.  Darbyson was released on a promise to appear and undertaking with a first appearance court date at the end of January.
