Shelburne Police Constable Jeff McLean receives award

On Saturday January 27, 2018 Shelburne Police Constable Jeff McLean attended the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario workshop in Niagara Falls where he received the “Rising Flame Award”. The Rising Flame Award recognizes an individual who shows exceptional promise of leadership and continued contribution to the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Sgt. Mark McGugan of the London Police service, who is the Director of the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run, said that “PC Jeff McLean is most deserving of this Award. His dedication and encouragement of others speaks volumes to the continued success of the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics”.

Shelburne Police Chief Kent Moore voiced his pride in PC McLean by saying that “We are very proud of PC McLean’s work with the Law Enforcement Torch Run. 2017 was his first year running the Shelburne Police event and he raised $19000.00 for the Special Olympics.”  Chief Moore also said “I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of all of the men and women of the Shelburne Police Service.  It is certainly special for one of our officers to receive provincial recognition for that hard work.”
