During the evening hours on Friday December 9th, Shelburne Police was conducting a portion of the Festive R.I.D.E. program.
Shortly after 9pm a car entered the spot check which caught the officer’s attention. A roadside investigation ensued resulting in both occupants arrested for drug possession.
The search of the car and further investigated resulted in small quantities of six different drugs seized, as well as drug paraphernalia. The illegal drugs seized are suspected to be Marihuana, Cocaine, Crystal Methamphetamine, Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (Ecstasy), plus two others substances have been sent for testing to verify their identity.
Charged with six counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance is 23 year old Nicole Haines of Shelburne, and charged with a single count of Possession of a Controlled Substance is David Platzer of Mono.
Both accused have first appearance court dates in early January to answer to the allegations.
